Samo pojetí náhody a nahodilosti znamená narušení koncepce tzv. pankauzality. Takovým narušením je ovšem už zkušenostně „daná“ rozmanitost věcí – vždyť jak jedna jediná (předpokládaná) poslední příčina může mít tolik rozmanitých následků? Mohla by tu být předložena – jako eventualita – koncepce několika základních (či posledních) příčin, a z nich by se odvozovaly víceré kauzální řetězce: náhodou či nahodilostí by pak bylo setkání některých vzdálených následků různých takových řetězců. Nicméně vzhledem k tomu, že i předpoklad několika od sebe se lišících kauzálních řetězců nelze nikterak ověřit (leda jen jeho velmi malé „úseky“), naskýtá se možnost předpokládat obrovské až nespočetné množství takových „posledních“ příčin. A tím se vlastně z jedné strany přibližujeme tomu, že společnou „příčinou“ vší nanejvýš rozrůzněné světové skutečnosti je „nic“, „nicota“, ovšem nicota nestabilní, stále nakloněná se měnit v „něco“ (či spíše ustavičně se proměňující v „něco“ či posléze rozmanitá „něca“).
