Staré úsloví říká, že omezení dělá mistra. Jistě na tom něco je; ovšem je otázkou, zda to platí pro každou činnost, nebo ještě lépe, zda můžeme uznat, že v každé činnosti (nikoli náhodné, ale promyšlené a zamýšlené) je takové „mistrovství“ opravdu žádoucí a cílem. (Bohužel se tato zkušenost někdy trivializuje poukazem k tomu, že nikdo nemůže přece dělat všechno, ale jen něco, a tím se ztratí vnímavost pro víc.) Tak třeba v posledních desetiletích a letech se rozšiřuje povědomí o tom, že specializace ve vědách sama nestačí, i když je zřejmé, že se bez ní už věda nemůže obejít. A tak se začíná stále silněji zdůrazňovat nejen význam hraničních disciplín, ale vůbec multidisciplinarita a interdisciplinarita. Možná, že to částečně souvisí s problémem řádu (a pořádku): když se to s pořádkem, plánováním a programováním přežene, uzavírají se tím vždy jakési cesty, které by eventuelně mohly vést někam jinam, než kam ukazuje stanovený a udržovaný program. Proto je třeba vždycky posuzovat, o jakou činnost jde a zejména v čem vlastně spočívá v její přínos, jaký je smysl určitého řádu a pořádku, který ovšem vždy k nějakému omezení vede. A to zase ukazuje, jak důležité je nechávat v každém „řádu“ jakási volná místa, jakési mezery, a také si stále dostatečně uvědomovat, že řád musí něčemu sloužit, být k něčemu dobrý (a k čemu: to, k čemu má řád sloužit, nemůže a nesmí být součástí, složkou toho řádu samého).
