This text provides a critical analysis of Eberhard Jüngel’s concept of God, specifically focusing on his distinction between "thinking God" and "comprehending God." Jüngel draws on the Augustinian tradition, which asserts that attempting to comprehend God leads to missing Him, and he identifies Descartes as the turning point where this caution was lost. However, the author criticizes Jüngel for failing to address his own metaphysical presuppositions, such as the uncritical use of the term "Being" in light of Heidegger’s "oblivion of being" and his reliance on the correspondence theory of truth. While Jüngel’s effort to transform the relationship between thought and God is viewed positively, the author argues that Jüngel remains limited by viewing "thinking God" solely as "thinking about God" as an object. The text suggests that a truly legitimate "thinking of God" might instead involve thinking about other subjects in a non-objective way that fundamentally constitutes a way of thinking God.

A pak sama formulace, užívající termínu „entsprechen“, ukazuje na nepřekonanou, ba ani dost neuvědoměnou zatíženost starou metafyzikou, zejména pak adekvační teorií.
