This document, dated June 11, 1978, is a formal appeal by the Charter 77 spokespersons addressed to the General Prosecutor Ján Feješ, requesting the release of Jan Šimsa, an evangelical minister. Šimsa was initially detained on May 30, 1978, on suspicion of sedition, which later proved unfounded. However, during a subsequent home search, security officers attempted to seize a letter by Professor Jan Patočka and physically assaulted Šimsa's wife. When Šimsa intervened to protect her, his actions were classified as a crime, leading to his pre-trial detention despite his poor health. Signatories Ladislav Hejdánek, Marta Kubišová, and Jaroslav Šabata condemn the imprisonment as illegal and demand his immediate release.
