This 1991 letter addressed to Otakar Funda reflects on the process of integrating theological faculties into Charles University following the fall of the communist regime. The author observes that while administrative incorporation occurred without resistance, genuine intellectual dialogue between theologians and the broader academic community remains underdeveloped. To bridge this gap, the author initiates a lecture series titled "Faith and Thought" at the Faculty of Arts. This project is intended as a platform for interdisciplinary encounters between philosophers and theologians of various denominations. Funda is formally invited to participate as a guest lecturer. The format of the sessions includes a scholarly lecture, a co-report, and a moderated discussion, with the events open to students from all faculties as well as the general public. The author emphasizes that the personal and professional engagement of philosophers in dialogue with theology is essential for creating a true university community and overcoming the previous isolation of theological disciplines. The lectures are held regularly in the faculty's Great Aula at Jan Palach Square.
