This text examines the relationship between time and change within the context of evolving philosophical thought. The traditional Aristotelian perspective assumed that every change requires a permanent carrier—a subject that undergoes modification while remaining fundamentally the same. However, the author points out that modern science and philosophy now acknowledge the existence of processes lacking a fixed carrier; these are changes of "nothing" that nevertheless occur. This shift raises a fundamental question regarding the nature of time. If change is no longer bound to a specific entity, what is its relationship to time? The text contemplates whether time can be seen, as Sophocles suggested, as a force that "gives birth" to such subjectless changes. The reflection thus moves toward a redefinition of traditional concepts of motion and temporality, challenging the necessity of a constant underlying basis in the process of becoming and seeking new ways to understand the dynamic nature of reality in its purest form, independent of any ontological anchoring in a stable subject.

Čas a změna
