This text presents a profound philosophical reflection on the concepts of contingency and improbability within the broader context of causality and necessity. The author critically challenges the traditional understanding of randomness as something entirely devoid of external influences, causes, or conditions. Such a premise is deemed problematic, as it would logically lead to a rigid determinism of everything possessing clear historical antecedents. Contingency is defined here not as the absolute absence of causal influences, but rather as a specific phenomenon that does not follow exclusively or necessarily from prior events. The text argues that nothing in our world is entirely accidental, since every chance occurrence always manifests within a dense web of non-contingent circumstances and stable structures. In this sense, contingencies are understood as small cracks in the fabric of a world that otherwise maintains its continuity primarily through inertia. These cracks then enter into immensely complex relationships based on the universal reactivity of all beings. The author concludes that there are no large-scale entities that are entirely random, but only local contingent elements within an otherwise continuous order.

Nahodilost a nepravděpodobnost
Jenže docela nahodilé není nic, neboť i tam, kde dojde k něčemu nahodilému, můžeme vždycky konstatovat nějaké nenahodilé okolnosti a dokonce i některé stránky oné „náhody“: k náhodě dojde vždy uprostřed řady nenahodilostí, a nejen vnějších.
