This text examines the internal structure of an "event" as a specific component of general happening. An event is defined as a process with a beginning, duration, and end, integrated into a unity by its subject. The author challenges traditional temporal concepts, emphasizing that the past and future are not simply non-existent within the context of an event. What has already occurred persists in the present through a specific form of memory, while what is yet to happen is already present in the form of a projection or layout of future occurrences. The text warns against causal determinism and the notion of the past as something rigidly fixed. An event is thus understood as a dynamic whole where the present constantly relates to a selectively preserved past and a projected future. This perspective allows for a deeper understanding of the ontological nature of happening, which transcends a mere sequence of moments and requires an active integration of all temporal dimensions into a unified, meaningful whole that constitutes the event's identity.
