This text examines the intricate relationship between faith and works, offering a critical perspective on how the two are traditionally evaluated. While the Epistle of James is often used to justify judging faith by its practical outcomes, the author emphasizes that the intrinsic value of faith is not derived from the deeds it inspires. Because we cannot directly perceive the internal faith of another person, we often turn to their actions as a secondary, auxiliary means of assessment. However, the text argues for a fundamental reversal of this logic: the true worth and significance of any human activity, endeavor, or creation must be measured against faith itself. In this view, faith serves as the ultimate criterion and the highest norm for all conduct. Ultimately, it is faith that validates the work, rather than the work validating the faith, establishing a spiritual hierarchy where inner conviction remains the primary standard for all external manifestations of human life.

Víra a skutky
