This study examines the ontological issue of the ambiguity of being and non-being, drawing on Brentano's interpretation of Plato and the ancient Atomists. The author criticizes the static conception of being as a mere object and proposes viewing true being as a temporal event or "super-event." This perspective reveals that at any given moment of an entity's existence, its essence is largely composed of what is currently "not"—namely, its past and its future. The text proposes a fundamental terminological distinction between "is-ness" (jsoucnost), which denotes actual presence in the "here and now" (hic et nunc), and "being" (bytí), which represents the holistic duration of the event from its beginning to its end. Through this distinction, the author opens a path toward a deeper understanding of the dynamic nature of reality and overcomes the traditional opposition between being and non-being, demonstrating that non-being is an integral part of the processual being of every entity.

[Jsoucí a nejsoucí]
