This document is a corrective letter written by the Czech philosopher Ladislav Hejdánek to the editorial board of the samizdat periodical Informace o Chartě 77 in January 1979. In the letter, Hejdánek addresses a factual error published in the first issue of the second volume of the publication, which incorrectly claimed that he had concluded his series titled Letters to a Friend with the fourteenth letter of the second sequence. Hejdánek clarifies the actual numbering system and continuity of his philosophical correspondence, explaining that the second series ended with letter number nineteen, bringing the cumulative total to forty. He notes that his current letter, marked as the first of the third series, is actually the forty-first in total sequence. The text highlights Hejdánek's insistence on precise documentation within the dissident press and corrects the misinformation regarding his intellectual output during this period of normalization in Czechoslovakia. The letter serves as an important record for the bibliographic history of Hejdánek's work and his commitment to factual accuracy.
Redakci „Informací o Chartě 77“ [1979]
V Prvním čísle druhého ročníku Informací o Chartě (na str.24) jsou čtenáři uváděni v mylnou představu, že jsem Dopisem příteli č. 14 ukončil druhou řadu svých dopisů. Není tomu tak; při troše pozornosti při čtení prvního dopisu letošní, tj. třetí řady si každý čtenář musel všimnout, že za číslem „1“ je v závorce číslo „41“, což zcela srozumitelně ukazuje, že celkově jde o dopis v pořadí čtyřicátý první. Naproti tomu dopis č. 14 má v závorce číslo 35. Z toho je zřejmé, že ještě po čísle 14 musela následovat čísla další, a to až do č. 19 (celkově 40. číslo).
Nežádal jsem redakci Inf. Chu o reklamu. Když už však někdo cítil potřebu o Dopisech příteli referovat, měl dbát o to, aby podal informaci a nikoliv dezinformaci.
