This text analyzes Patočka's concepts of "situation" and "reflection" as presented in his lectures on Plato and Europe. The author critically examines Patočka's thesis that an individual's situation is always part of a broader, general human situation. The primary critique is directed at Patočka's tendency toward objectivism and objectifying thought, which the author views as a relic of Husserlian subjectivism. According to the text, Patočka erroneously treats the situation as an object of reflection, whereas true reflection should relate exclusively to activity rather than its products. The author argues that any "objective situation" is already the result of a mental process of objectification, not a starting point. Therefore, genuine reflection should focus on the process of this objectifying activity itself. The study reveals internal tensions in Patočka's phenomenology and proposes a different understanding of the relationship between human situatedness and reflecting consciousness, rejecting the reduction of a lived situation to a mere object of thought.
