This study analyzes Heraclitus's approach to epistemology, based on the recognition of sensory value, particularly sight, which is prioritized over hearing. Although Heraclitus relies on empirical knowledge, he emphasizes that senses alone are insufficient. The key element is the human soul; if a person possesses a "barbaric soul," their senses become poor witnesses to reality. In Heraclitus's view, the soul contains an internal logos with the capacity for self-augmentation, serving as a principle for understanding reality. The text further elucidates the thesis that the surrounding world is imbued with reason and mind, referring to a divine logos rather than merely human intelligence. The work concludes that for Heraclitus, true knowledge is conditioned by the harmony between external perception and the inner logos of the soul, thereby opening a path to perceive the eternal cosmic order that surrounds us and transcends individual human experience.

Hérakleitos
Hérakleitos si cení smyslů a znalostí: „Co lze vidět, slyšet, poznat, tomu dávám přednost.“ (zl. B 55 z Hippolyta.)
