This text provides an in-depth exploration of the nature of human thinking, defining it primarily as an individual yet not private or isolated process. It emphasizes that human thought is intrinsically linked to significant supra-individual contexts, most notably language, speech, and the broader human society. The author rejects the notion of thinking as a closed phenomenon, arguing instead that every individual thought is fundamentally interconnected with the thoughts of other individuals. A crucial aspect of this interaction is the direct experience of understanding or misunderstanding that arises during the process of mutual communication. Within this space, a vital distinction is made between what was truly intended by the thinker and what was actually uttered. Consequently, reason is viewed as a complex phenomenon that originates within the individual but transcends the boundaries of subjectivity through speech and the shared social sphere. This deep interconnectedness between the intended and the expressed forms the essential basis for examining the relationships between thinking subjects and their mutual influence within the world.
