This text explores the long-standing and persistently relevant relationship between Christian faith, modern science, and philosophy. Although it is a historically rooted issue, the author emphasizes that within the contemporary context of 1960, it remains an unresolved and pressing challenge for every believing intellectual. The article points out that even in the domestic Czechoslovak sphere, this relationship has not yet been satisfactorily clarified, despite various partial studies that have attempted to address the problem in a serious manner. The core of the reflection lies in the confrontation between traditional theological premises and the dynamically developing scientific knowledge and modern philosophical movements of the 20th century. The author critically evaluates previous unsuccessful efforts to synthesize these fields and suggests that a deeper and more systematic approach is needed, one that takes into account the specificities of both sides of the dialogue. The text serves as an introduction to a broader discussion on the position of the Christian in the modern world, where science and philosophy play a dominant role in shaping the worldview, and seeks ways toward mutual understanding without the necessity of denying the fundamental principles of religious faith.
