This text examines the historical and methodological relationship between philosophy and the specialized sciences, grounded in the fact that most scientific disciplines emerged by separating from their original philosophical foundations. While this specialization has brought numerous advantages, it has also led to a significant weakening of the ability to perceive reality as a whole, both in theoretical and practical terms. Using examples from physics, chemistry, and biology, the author demonstrates the limitations of a reductionist approach: while physics studies elementary particles, it loses sight of the integrity of a living organism, such as an animal or a plant. The text highlights that while individual disciplines are capable of detailed descriptions of their specific segments of reality, they often encounter boundaries when attempting to explain complex phenomena that transcend their definitions. This fragmentation of knowledge results in a need for interdisciplinary overlap, which was formerly a natural component of the philosophical inquiry into the world as a unified whole.

Filosofie a vědy (speciální)
A platí to pochopitelně i naopak – biologie sama nám nezjistí a neřekne nic o chemických pochodech při trávení v tom či onom organismu, a už vůbec nic o povaze přitom zúčastněných atomů a molekul.
