This text examines the applicability of the Platonic term "idea" within the framework of contemporary thought. The author critically evaluates Jan Patočka's post-war attempts to revive this concept, noting a likely connection to Emanuel Rádl's "Consolation of Philosophy," published shortly after World War II. The primary focus of the argument is the ontological contradiction arising from interpreting the "idea" as "pure non-objectivity." If we accept such a definition, a significant problem emerges regarding the plurality of ideas. The text questions how individual ideas, understood as purely non-objective, can be distinguished or separated from one another without becoming mutually external. This issue challenges the coherence of a pluralistic conception of ideas within modern phenomenological or ontological interpretations that seek to transcend object-oriented thinking.
