This text examines Martin Heidegger's interpretation of the Greek term alétheia, which he defines as unconcealment and the process of presencing. Heidegger's ontological reflection addresses the paradox of hiddenness: if truth is understood as unconcealment, the status of what remains hidden becomes problematic. The analysis further explores the etymological connection Heidegger draws between the verbs fainesthai (to appear) and fyein (to grow), supported by references to Sophocles' Ajax, where time is depicted as both revealing and concealing. A central theme is the assertion that the sense of being receives its determination from time, a cornerstone of Heidegger's philosophy. The text also discusses the terminological nuances between the ontological concept of being and logos understood as the sense of being, highlighting potential difficulties in specific formulations and translations. This concise study illuminates key aspects of Heidegger's thought regarding the nature of truth and its essential temporal character.
