This text examines the nature of the intentional object, defining it as a mental model that represents reality through similar properties. Drawing on the philosophical tradition established by Franz Brentano and Edmund Husserl, the author characterizes the intentional object not as an ordinary thing, but as an "ideal thing." A central theme is the strict distinction between an intentional object and a concept. While a concept lacks the attributes of the reality it refers to (for instance, the concept of a dog does not bark), the intentional object carries and "makes present" these properties within consciousness, albeit only intentionally. Using examples of a dog and a triangle, the author illustrates that an intentional object possesses specific features that are absent in abstract concepts. The text thus clarifies the ontological status of mental representations and their relationship to real entities and logical categories. This distinction is crucial for understanding how human consciousness grasps and models external or ideal reality without confusing it with mere definitions.
