This text explores the philosophical investigation of the concept of "beginning" (arché) within the context of specific entities and the world as a totality. The author argues that questioning the origin of individual "eventual wholes" is inherently meaningful and logically extends to the question of the origin of the universe itself. The text challenges the assumption of an eternal world without beginning or end, asserting that any intra-worldly event must satisfy two conditions to function as a concrete whole: internal unification and external differentiation from the rest of the world or other events. Both conditions presuppose a level of activity on the part of the event, suggesting that the event constitutes itself as a subject of its own becoming. By distinguishing between the event as a whole and the event as a subject, the author links event-based ontology with subjectivity and temporality. This reflection offers a profound insight into the nature of existence as a dynamic process where the "beginning" serves not merely as a temporal marker but as a constitutive element of identity and agency.
